Pork: By far the world’s largest pork producer, China is forecast to supply 54% of global needs this year, or 640% of that of the US. Production is forecast at 55.8 million tonnes or 12.53 million tonnes (29%) more than in 2002. From 2002 to this year, it is expected to account for 81.5% of global growth in pork production. Its annual output is growing by close to 3 million tonnes.
